**All patrons are highly recommended to wear masks indoors**

On July 29, 2021, Cook County entered into the substantial spread category of COVID-19 and its variants.  Based on recommendations from the CDC and IDPH, we highly recommend that all patrons, regardless of vaccination status, wear a mask in all public indoor settings until further notice. Please remember that some facilities serve high-risk groups including seniors and school-age children who are not vaccinated.  Beginning August 2, all children 12 years and under and their instructors are required to wear face masks at all times while indoors.  Additionally, all individuals, regardless of vaccine status, in our school-related programs, must wear masks at all times. MOVIE IN THE PARK

Join us for a family movie night in the park.  We will watch the TOY STORY movie on a 35′ big screen in the large field on the north end of Twin Lakes.  Please bring a blanket or a lawn chair.  Social distancing must be maintained between each family.  Children must remain seated and quiet during the movie.  Maximum 10 people per group.

TURTLE TREK RACE

You will not want to miss our annual Turtle Trek Race and Raffle!  Adopt a turtle today, and you will have a chance to win a great prizes, as we will race our fleet of plastic turtles in Donut Lake! PAINT NIGHT

You are provided with paint, brushes, easels, canvas and an art instructor to teach you step by step on how to create a beautiful work of art. Please wear a paint shirt with short sleeves. YOUTH OBSTACLE COURSE RACE (OCR)

Join us for our 4th annual Youth Obstacle Course Race (OCR) at Twin Lakes! The race is 1.25 miles or (2K) race.  The course will take adventurous youth between the ages of 6-14 years old on a fun course on the perimeter of Twin Lakes golf course.  Participants will enjoy 10-14 man-made & natural obstacles that will challenge their physical ability and determination.  All participants will receive a t-shirt (if registered before Sept. 1), goodie bag and bragging rights.  Race will run rain or shine.

HARVEST HAYRIDE

Get ready for this family friendly event throughout Twin Lakes Recreation Area.  Hayrides will be taken around the park as a story is read, and s’mores and hot chocolate will be ready for you as you relax around a bonfire. The 5:10pm ride is geared towards younger kids and will start while it is still light outside.  Please dress for the weather!  Fee is per person and adults must accompany children.  Children UNDER 1 years old are free.  Limited numbers per hayride.  Stories are read by the Palatine Public Library.  Pre-registration is required, no walk-ins.

HOWL-O-WEEN PET PARADE

Dress your pet to impress!  Prizes awarded to the Most Creative, Spookiest and Best Couple (Human & Pet), and the Cutest.  Check-in at pavilion 2 (closest to 53) and we will be walking over to pavilion #1 by the playground.  Pre-registration is required.

FAMILY BINGO NIGHT – HALLOWEEN THEMED

Bring the family out for a Halloween-themed bingo night.  Please bring a full-sized candy bar for each family member to go into our pot-o-candy.  Bingo winners will get to pick a candy bar out of the pot; but don’t worry, everyone will leave with a sweet treat!  Each participant will receive one slice of pizza to enjoy during the event.  Pre-registration is required, no walk-ins.  No refunds if cancellation is 48 hours before event.

CRAFT FAIR

Bring out your best homemade items and join us for our annual craft fair at the Salt Creek Park District.  You’ll get a 10ft x 10 ft. space where you can bring your own table or rent an 8-foot table from us.  Call 847-259-6890 or visit www.saltcreekpd.com for an application.  Each vendor will receive one lunch meal deal with your registration.  Additional lunches can be purchased for $7.

FAMILY TRIVIA NIGHT

Now hosting an interactive Family Trivia Night! Come on and challenge your brain with some fun trivia questions!  We will be hosting the event at Twin Lakes and using the Kahoot app for Trivia.  We will have some fun holiday questions for the entire family.  Everyone must pre-register for the event by December 1. Trivia night will be held on Friday, December 3 from 6:00-7:30pm.  Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 families.  Please only register one member of your household.

NORTH POLE EXPRESS

Experience the magic of the North Pole Express! The train will depart from the Arlington Park Train Station and head to the ‘North Pole’ and back.  Enjoy a special reading of the “Polar Express” book, play holiday games, sing Christmas carols, answer trivia, take pictures with our special quest & more! Cookies & chocolate milk will be provided to everyone on the train. Pre-registration is required! Children under 1 year are free.  All participants (including adults) must register.  Please check in 20 minutes before departure time.  Limited availability, please register early!

Residents only – may register August 2-13.
